Its been raining here in good ole' Merlion City.
The rain lands heavily, splotches drenching the concrete. And then it disappears as its brethren hit the ground just as hard and the whole floor turns into a mini swimming pool.
There's a particular tree outside my place that I have been eyeing but I have yet to put a name to it. No botanist, I am. I'm leaving that to the father and the sister that did zoology and botany respectively. But it has these awesome little blue/purple berries (I'm colour-blind, hence I usually never say something is a particular colour unless I'm absolutely certain [which rarely happens] of it) that fall from the tree especially with the rough winds of late. They land and are usually crushed by walking feet. And they leave these wonderful markings on the ground, like some sort of indecipherable alien language. Cute. Definitely cute.
I must also say that this blog has not really turned out to be much lately. Possibly because I've been running out of ideas of what to blog. Usually, when that happens, I tend to go through my phone photo gallery and use that to annotate whatever I have been writing but even then, the photos I've been taking recently are not particularly inspiring.
But yes, it has been raining heavily in Merlion City. It does make things seem a little depressing. After all, who would've guessed that I could possibly get seasonal affective disorder this close to the equator, right?
Today has been gorgeous, though.
It started with a downpour. As the Girlfriend and I left the house, we looked out the window and we both simultaneously raised our umbrellas and ran into the rain to catch our bus to work.
But to say that the weather is behaving like a petulant child, throwing a tantrum one minute and then bursting into smiles and giggles the next would not be out of the question either.
It was wonderful.
The sun, streaming, hot and yellow like a perfectly boiled egg with the runny egg yolk, melting over my skin. I used to think that I didn't really enjoy the sun especially in a hot climate like Merlion City but heck...today it was perfect. But then again, I'm probably also ignoring the fact that I've got a cold and its only seeming to get worse. I'm loving it now, though. I think I was born to be with the heat. To be out of it is out of the question.
The above picture? After ranting on and on about how I don't seem to take enough pictures, I thought it would be nice to have something to depict the lovely weather here. Can't you just feel the heat right now?
On that note, my nose is running at 10km per hour, I'm coughing my lungs out, and my body aches from a workout 2 days ago. MEH.
Tootles.
