Its definitely been a while since I have done any real form of studying. And as of late, I've been reading a lot about trying to expand my horizons and look to do something a bit more different compared to my usual line of work.
I have also been looking really closely into the "4-Hour Work Week" by Tim Ferriss which has been a really scary read. Honestly, its as unnerving as challenging an acrophobic to do a bungee jump and convincing them to pay for it out of their own pocket. It challenges me on so many different levels to get out of my comfort zone and start doing things I love.
But I digress.
On that note, though, I've been looking into doing a few MBA degrees recently. I even attended an open lecture at one of the local universities here but the course fees scared me away. I guess I wasn't really ready to commit just yet.
It did make me think about what I wanted to do at this point in time when I've matured a bit more now. It really did make me wonder whether if I was to study again, what would I want to do with my life. But like most university courses, they tend to focus on the specialist and doing one degree rather than being more adventurous and trying to encourage people to diversify.
So when I got this email in my inbox from Kaplan offering double major degrees, this piqued my interest. Coming from a very science based background in tertiary education (I'm a physiotherapist by profession), looking into the Bachelors of Arts was something I have always been very enthusiastic about.
As I was going through the list of these double major degrees, I think I would definitely have enjoyed communications and media studies. After all, I think every aspiring blogger hopes to one day become a writer of sorts. And the international business and management degrees promise quite a bit in terms of travel and doing business which I have not gotten much practice in terms of my career so far.
Ultimately, I'm hoping to be able to look into running a business of my own probably in the field of journalism or writing which would one day, hopefully be able to allow me to use it as a main source of income whilst I continue doing physiotherapy on the side.
So this might be something you would want to look into, especially in terms of a change in career and as an opportunity to upgrade your skills. After all, life doesn't end after university and a job, you know! We have to think ahead and plan each step of the way. And with Kaplans to help you, now you can advance your life goals with Murdoch's Double Major Degree and Masters programmes offered at Kaplan Higher Education on a full time and part time basis.
